Enough About Art

So here's what happened.  Meeko pulled me aside and I think 'Oh no, this won't be good'. He was pretty direct.  Briefly, he thinks I've been devoting too much blog space to art, Etsy, snow, family, that kind of thing.  He wants more Meeko now or he is threatening to hijack my blog (he's done it before, so I need to take this seriously).  I don't think the theme of today's blog needs any further explanation.

And finally, here is Meeko with his favourite toy from Christmas.
And 532 kilometers away Meeko's 'cousin' and good buddy Marlowe (photo sent by my sister-in-law).

(Don't be too jealous of our snow. We had freezing rain this morning and now are in the middle of regular old rain right now--in other words, a sea of slush.)

    1. Hi Karin--His eyes melt me (when I can see them, that is, behind his hair!). My girls picked out the name. There is a raccoon named Meeko in the movie Pocahontas--not that he looks anything like a raccoon but they liked the name and we were looking for one that started with 'm'. I used to have a cat named Mackenzie. My brother's dog is named Marlowe. My sister's dog is named Mabel. It was a family trend. :)

  2. awww, gotta love this sort of hijacks !! Meeko has such a sweet face indeed, he makes me want to cuddle him & send him the ball ! :)
Being a cat mommy for the first time, I've worried about too much blogging about/with Gary, but I've quick changed my mind. The one visitor who's bored of seeing him can look elsewhere or visit another blog ! There, I said it.
Big hugs to you & Meeko !

    1. I love seeing photos of Gary, so you don't have to worry about me! :) (My girls wondered if his name came from the Sponge Bob show? Such a great name for a cat!) Meeko's such an important part of my life that I would have trouble leaving him out of my blog (even he wasn't insisting to be in it). :)

    2. (sorry, seeing your reply now only)
When we welcomed Gary into our lives, his name was already Gary (he's around 5 years old) so we didn't change his name. But you may be interested to know that I call him "Pitou" (pronounced in French of course) because I find it sounds so cute ! And he now understands that I call him or talk about him when I say "Pitou". LOL

    3. In Quebec, pitou usually refers to a dog, minou to a cat. Isn't that interesting? Gary sounds like a smart cat and it's pretty amazing that he fit in so quickly and beautifully with your family at five years of age.

    1. I will pass on your comments to Meeko and Marlowe. :) I love his big nose too although he does have a way of putting it in places it shouldn't be! Were you trying to leave 'feedback' on Etsy?. That's very nice of you. I'll send you an email with the steps, okay? One of my friends here ordered a print from me and she had trouble with their feedback form too.

    1. Wow...that is high praise indeed! Meeko has a lot of catlike qualities (it's really quite funny to watch him bat things with his paws). Your cats must have picked up on that. :)

  5. Too bad about the blahs. I def. get blah in the winter- I'm in Anchorage AK. What helps is getting outside- like you are or going to the gym, and sometimes tv/movies and martinis.. double points if it's in the middle of the day. ;)

    1. You're funny. Meeko gets me outside twice a day so I definitely get fresh air. Haven't tried the martinis at lunch trick but I think I would sleep for the whole afternoon. :)
