Tulips and Crocuses

I spent a good part of yesterday as grumpy as a bear.  I couldn't find my camera anywhere to the point I thought it had been packed in someone's school bag. Grumpiness is not a very useful state, especially when there are spring flowers blooming.  I used my old camera to take these photos of crocuses and the first of my botanical tulips.

I managed to paint.

And take Meeko for two extra-long walks. He didn't complain.

And I added a new tulip print to my Etsy shop.

All in all, not too bad for a grumpy day. :)

Tulip and Crocuses in progress. Another painting in progress in background.
This made me smile this morning:

"I thought yesterday was the first day of the rest of my life but it turns out today is."

  1. My thought is that we can't possibly in a superb, nice & happy mood all the time. There has to be grumpy kind of days, and as you did point out yourself, you did manage to get a lot done, despite not the happiest mood ever. That's OK, tomorrow is another day, and the colors of your flowers, of your paintings, and the look in Meeko's eyes will wipe all the grumpy away.
I hope you'll find the camera very soon, I know it IS very annoying when you're looking for something & can't find it.

    1. It's true. Days come in all sorts. I did find my camera at the end of the day. It was in someone's bedroom (not mine). Grrrr. I had looked there, as well as EVERYWHERE else in the house earlier in the day. Oh well. Today is a new day and I will work on my painting. xx

    1. Grincheux, grincheuse? In Quebec, we say 'marabout' but I don't know if it's used in France. I'm going to keep working on my tulip/crocus painting this afternoon. I'm far less grumpy today! :)

  4. Lovely colours in your crocus and tulip painting Kathleen, and the print! I've been walking in SNOW today, we went up on the moors which had snow left over from in the week?? Crazy weather, wish we had some sun for the hols, but it was lovely today nontheless.

    1. Thanks for the compliments, Julie. Snow? Our last snow wasn't long ago but it seems to be gone. We do seem to be in similar weather zones though. 'Moors'--I wonder if the English have the same romantic sense of them that the rest of us do? Sigh.
