These are so breathtaking for me, poor little colorful-birds-deprived European girl ....
Imagine a wide poster made of these photos !! Gorgeous !
    Thanks for sharing, Kathleen !

    1. Isn't he a beauty, Sonia? He was so shy about the photos at first. Every time I opened the back door a crack, he would fly away. Then finally he calmed down. I love the junco in the background too. Such a sweet bird. xx

  2. Kathleen!! These are amazing! Well done! I'm not sure what type of lens you have on that camera, but it takes a great photographer to get shots like that. Love that cardinal!

    1. Thanks Jody. I used my zoom lens. It's quite heavy and I couldn't use a tripod as the cardinal was not happy if I opened the door wide so it was a bit of a juggling act (and it was before my first cup of coffee!). I'm really happy I was able to take so many of him. So often I take photos of birds and they are out of focus, so I'm thrilled these turned out.

  3. Oh boy, Oh boy, Oh boy! I need those birdies in my garden. What fantastic photos, I couldn't get near the birds in my garden, except for 2, a little robin, who sometimes comes really close when I'm putting food out, I hold out my hand and he looks,... one day maybe? and a blackbird, who hides under a bush, I throw raisins and he darts out to snatch them, quite cute that trick :) Well done you, more please.

    1. Your robin and blackbird sound cute. Some people train the chickadees to eat out of their hands here. I have a few more photos from this morning that I'll post in the next couple of days including a funny one of Meeko.

  4. Oh Kathleen this is magical!!! The colors are so beautiful, the little birds... what can I say...
I have been reading all your post from the beginning, only this year left to catch up. Your your pictures are so beautiful and as I told you before I love Meeko and your work. Your writing is very entertaining, it is like being in your kitchen having a cup of coffee, I can get the feelings you where having then.

    1. Thanks, Nance. I appreciate that, as you've taken some very beautiful bird photos yourself. Love the cardinals and the juncos--among my favourite visitors in our yard for sure.
